However, while Carys’ parents are undoubtedly among the greatest talents in the industry, all eyes were on Catherine’s mini-me daughter. With pictures of the trio going viral, many fans were left wondering – who is she, and was her Cannes debut a glimpse of her potential future in stardom?

Carys Zeta Douglas had a low-key childhood

Despite having big-name parents, Carys was virtually unknown in the public eye until recently. Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey in 2003, Carys spent her childhood in Bermuda, far from the gaze of showbiz and paparazzi.
She was so far removed, in fact, that she didn’t know her Academy Award-winning dad’s background. “I thought my dad was a pancake maker,” she told Town & Country. “I didn’t know he was an actor. Honestly.”
By the time she turned six, the family moved to Manhattan, New York – which Carys hated at first, she told the publication.

She credits her mum and dad – 53 and 78, respectively – for the way she is today. “My parents do a really good job of reality-checking me and being like, ‘Look around you. The life you have is extraordinary,’” she told T&C.
She attends fashion weeks with her mum

Mummy-daughter day out? Carys has been spotted on multiple occasions joining her celebrity mum at global fashion events.
From Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda show at The Metropolitan Opera in 2018 to Michael Kors at New York Fashion Week in 2019, the duo have become a staple on fashion VIP lists. In the summer of 2019, they turned heads sitting front row at the Fendi show in Rome, which paid homage to the house’s late creative director Karl Lagerfeld.
And it’s only just the beginning for the 20-year-old fashionista.

She’s a model in the making

With a style icon mum, it’s no wonder Carys is poised to take the fashion world by storm. She opted for a regal Elie Saab piece at Cannes, which featured hip cut-outs, dainty white lace and sheer details from the waist down.
She’s also graced the covers of Town & Country and Vanity Fair Spain. In October 2020, she starred in a campaign with her Wednesday star mother for Fendi’s Peekaboo bag.Her impressive vocals …

It seems Carys has her heart set on music at the moment. A month ago, she sang Lady Gaga’s “Shallow” with The Honkytonks at a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland, as seen in a video posted by the musicians.
Zeta-Jones was quick to respond on the video to show her support, posting: “Carys!!!!! Amazing! Wish I was there. Love you. Have a blast baby.”
It’s not the first time Carys has expressed her passion for music, with Zeta-Jones previously posting a clip of her daughter singing Sara Bareilles’ “Little Black Dress” on Instagram.

… and acting chops?

Carys’ parents are trailblazers in the film industry, with multiple Oscars and Baftas to their names. Douglas has starred in award-winning hits like Fatal Attraction (1987), The Game (1997) and A Perfect Murder (1998), while Zeta-Jones counts The Mask of Zorro (1998), Chicago (2002) and Intolerable Cruelty (2003) among her most famous films.

So will Carys follow in their footsteps? She already has a couple of minor acting credits on IMDB, so only time will tell.
One big, happy showbiz family
The Zeta-Jones-Douglas family is very close, as seen in the many public supportive messages and posts they share about one another. Whether they’re attending big events together or jet-setting the globe and enjoying yacht trips on their days off, it’s clear that Carys and her brother are ready to continue their parents’ legacy – plus, with such great contacts, they’re surely poised for a life of luxury.ncG1vNJzZmivp6x7tK%2FMqWWcp51kuqKzwLOgp52jZMC1xcueZp6mpJq%2Fta3Ip6SepqRkrrPAyJyjnmdjZ390f5VsZrCgn2Kwor7YrGSznaSWeqW71KCjmqtdmK61tMSroKedXa%2Byta2Mo6annaNiuqq6yGaknmWUlsKotNOeqWaflaN6u3nMqJuepF2fwrTAjKaYnZ1dnbKzecKapaedo2K%2FprA%3D
